ABOUT THE ARTIST
Lori Murphy is a mixed-media artist who transforms found materials into layered narratives of history, people, and place. She draws from art history books, discarded papers, and objects gathered on walks through San Francisco, where she lives and works. Each material carries its own history, its own embedded content. Through a steady rhythm of deconstruction and reconstruction, she creates new narratives that explore the connections between the past and the present, the personal and the collective. Her interests dwell in the realm of both material and content. She holds an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute.
